Ambulance and hearse costs: how they are worked out

Base fare, per-km rate and minimum fare, with worked examples.

A Nadi partner organisation’s ambulance

The cost of an ambulance is often clear only after calling around and haggling. At Nadi the rates are written down, and the app shows the price before you book. That is the price you pay.

How it is worked out

For Medical Transport and Hearse trips up to 60 km:

  • The base fare plus distance × the per-km rate.
  • If that comes to less than the minimum fare, the minimum fare applies.
  • Plus Nadi’s 5% service charge, already included in the price shown.

Current rates

As of 7 October 2026, Standard class, all regions:

  • Medical Transport: base fare Rp150,000, Rp10,000 per km, minimum fare Rp200,000.
  • Hearse: base fare Rp110,000, Rp8,000 per km, minimum fare Rp150,000.

Rates can change. The latest rates and the calculator are always on the prices page.

Examples

  • Ambulance, 10 km: Rp150,000 + 10 × Rp10,000 = Rp250,000, plus a Rp12,500 service charge. Total Rp262,500.
  • Ambulance, 3 km: Rp150,000 + 3 × Rp10,000 = Rp180,000. That is below the minimum fare, so Rp200,000 applies, plus a Rp10,000 service charge. Total Rp210,000.
  • Hearse, 10 km: Rp110,000 + 10 × Rp8,000 = Rp190,000, plus a Rp9,500 service charge. Total Rp199,500.

Over 60 km

Beyond 60 km the price comes from a partner’s quote: Rp10,200–Rp13,800 per km for an ambulance, Rp8,000–Rp12,000 per km for a hearse, with at least 50% paid in advance.

Paid separately

In-town tolls and parking are paid as incurred. The details are on the Medical Transport and Hearse pages.

Free for the patient

SOS and Sosial are free for the patient: SOS for emergencies, Sosial for non-emergencies up to 60 km.
